(Ahlul Bayt News Agency) - The Leader on Thursday agreed to a request by Judiciary Chief Ayatollah Sadeq Amoli Larijani to pardon some prisoners on the occasion of the birth anniversary of Prophet Muhammad (PBUH) and the 33rd anniversary of the victory of the Islamic Revolution.
The 17th day of the lunar Islamic month of Rabi Al-Awwal marks the birth anniversary of Prophet Muhammad (PBUH).
The auspicious occasion this year coincides with the 33rd anniversary of the victory of the Islamic Revolution.
The Iranian nation toppled the US-backed Pahlavi regime 33 years ago, ending 2,500 years of monarchic rule in the country.
